Who We Are

Established in 1978 as Parents Anonymous of Southwestern Ohio, Inc. the agency has always been committed to child abuse prevention. In an effort to more accurately reflect the scope of our services as well as our significant growth, we changed our name to the Council on Child Abuse of Southern Ohio, Inc. The Council does not attempt to duplicate the efforts of protective services. Rather, we focus on primary services which prevent harm to children.

How We Work

Our Board of Trustees consists of 25 members who act as the governing body for the agency. Members of our Advisory Board and Past Presidents Board share their expertise and skills as they relate to the mission of the Council. Professional staff and trained volunteers provide prevention programs and services throughout the southern Ohio area.

The Council is part of national, state, and local alliances that work collaboratively to prevent child abuse. As a non-profit agency, the Council is dependent upon many sources of financial support. Our 501(c) (3) status enables us to receive generous gifts from individuals, service organizations, foundations, corporations, and the United Way. Make a Donation!

Our Strategy

To keep us focused on our long term goals, we have established a Strategic Plan which guides and assists us in accomplishing our mission. The Strategic Plan includes detailed marketing, program & service, collaboration and resource management initiatives.

We will focus our capabilities on strengthening and refining our programs and services. We will meet emerging community needs as we move forward with appropriate resources to address the challenges we face.
